Dan Freed & Dan Freed Works

I have been doing portraits since I was about 11 years old! I love drawing people. For some reason I've always been able to capture likeness's rather easily. It's been a blessing in my life and hopefully in others as well. I was lucky enough to have a wonderful high school art teacher - Bob Whitney - who really helped me to develop my drawing skills. He offered an intense program of art training for students who were serious about becoming artists. I ended up getting an art scholarship to Ricks College where I attended for a year before a church mission where I served for 2 years in Japan. After that I attended BYU and then graduated with honors from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. I work as a Graphic Designer full time for a company by the name of Kiddie Kandids in their Marketing Department. However, my passion is drawing and painting and I have continued to do both for many years now. I get quite a few commissions every year and hope to get many more.

Give me a call anytime at 801-916-2862 (my cell) if you have an interest. My prices are very reasonable and I'd love to work with you. Click on the "Contact Info" above on this page.

My father was recently remarried to a wonderful woman named Wanda.  I wanted to give them a present in the form of a portrait.  This is it. It's done in brown and white prisma color pencil on a gold colored paper.
